Athletes can only speak honestly if they trust us with their information. This page explains, in plain language, what we collect, what we do with it, and what we do not do.
What we collect
- Your email address, when you sign in. We use it to send sign-in links and to contact you about your account or a review.
- Your review, including your ratings, your would-you-play-for-them-again answer, and any written text.
- Verification details, only if you submit a review: your full name, school, team, seasons played, whether you are a current or former player, and the email address you used to verify.
- Payment information, only when you buy access. Payments are handled by Stripe. We store a Stripe customer ID and your access status, and we never see or store your card number.
- Suggestions you send about coach listings, including an optional contact email. To limit spam we also keep a scrambled fingerprint of your network address for a short time. We cannot read it back into an address.
- Basic technical data, such as the pages you visit and your browser type, collected by our hosting and infrastructure providers to run and secure the site.
How your reviews stay anonymous
Your review is shown to the public without your name, school, email, seasons, or role. Nothing on the site links a review to a person.
Your verification details are encrypted before they are saved. They are used to decide whether your review is real: we confirm you control the email you gave us, compare your details against a public team roster when one is available, and, if that isn’t enough, a member of our team reviews them by hand. After we make a decision about your review, we remove your email address from the stored details. We keep a scrambled fingerprint of it so one person can’t review the same coach twice.
A member of our team can also see the names of people who have submitted a review, so we know who has already taken part and don’t ask them again. That list does not show which coach you reviewed or what you wrote.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your information.
- We do not show your identity to coaches, schools, programs, agents, or other users.
- We do not use your verification details for advertising or marketing.
When we might have to share information
We will not hand over your information because someone asks nicely or because a coach or school is unhappy with a review. The one exception is a valid legal demand, such as a court order or subpoena. If we are legally required to disclose information, we will limit what we share to what the law requires and, where the law allows, try to tell you first. We cannot promise this will never happen, which is why we say your reviews are anonymous to the public rather than untraceable.
Who helps us run the site
We use trusted providers for specific jobs: Supabase (database and sign-in), Stripe (payments), Vercel (hosting), Cloudflare (domain and network services), and Resend (sign-in and verification emails). They process data only to provide those services to us. The Site uses cookies that keep you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies or sell data to advertisers.
How long we keep things, and deleting your data
We keep your account and your encrypted verification details for as long as your review is on the site, so we can answer disputes and prevent fake reviews. You can ask us to delete your account at any time by emailing us. We will delete your account and the identity details tied to it. Your review text may stay on the site with no link to you, unless you also ask us to remove it.
Security
We encrypt reviewer identity details, limit who can access them, and use reputable providers. No system is perfectly secure, and we can’t guarantee absolute security, but we take it seriously and will notify affected people as required by law if something goes wrong.
Your choices
You can request a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. Our site is intended for users in the United States.
